In the summer of 2013 Thompson Conn and several Nova Scotia and Newfoundland survey companies embarked on a project in the north eastern region of Newfoundland to establish a transmission corridor for the Maritime Link, an energy transmission project that will link the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia for the very first time. When completed, The Maritime Link will supply affordable, reliable and renewable energy to Nova Scotians. The project included a profile of the existing and new sections of transmission lines, determining the boundaries along the corridor and cross section information used in the planning of the tower and transmission lines locations.
