Precise and Higher Order Surveys
Prior to starting projects, Thompson Conn staff review project
requirements and the integrity of the existing coordinate control
in the subject area. In most cases TCL will perform a high order GPS
static survey to establish precise x, y, z coordinate control points
in and around the project area. These control networks are planned
in detail with respect to observation time, suitability of control
point locations, strength of figure and are subject to rigorous Q.A. Q.C.
These high order control networks then form the basis for all survey and
construction activity. As control is required it is re-established
from the original TCL control fabric to ensure quality, repeatability and precision.
